About Peter Urlich
Born December 1956 in Auckland.
Educated at Sacred Heart College until 7th Form in 1975. UE Bursary qualified.
Spent 2 years in the advertising industry while moonlighting as a singer in a rock band.
Went professional with the band which became legendary NZ group, Th’ Dudes.
When the band split in 1980, started the first of many bars and nightclubs which were the start of the electronic dance scene in this country.
Returned to advertising as a writer while still continuing in entertainment, singing in a jazz/swing group (which continues to this day).
Enjoyed a stint as Presenter on Max TV with his own show, The Tube.
Started a partnership with DJ Bevan Keys, calling themselves Nice’n’Urlich, arguably the most popular House music act in NZ.
Hosted a radio show called Nice’n’Urlich on bFM on Saturday mornings, 1998 – 2001.
Starred as the Manager of TruBliss on TV2’s top-rating series, “Popstars” which went on to become a blueprint for international reality TV shows.
Starts a family with partner Danielle Beh. Two sons , Joe and Stan.
Became the Breakfast Show host on George FM in 2002 – 2008.
Presented a celebrity segment on TV One’s “Headliners”.
Has appeared in various TV commercials, the last one being Treasures nappy campaign 2005.
Re-united with Th’ Dudes in 2007 to complete a sold out national tour.
Appeared as a judge on TVNZ’s “Pops Ultimate Star” series.
Competed in “Dancing With The Stars” 2008 until Rd 3.
Returns to host A Saturday morning show on bFM, “Bright & Urlich”
The Peter Urlich Dine and Dance revival tour was very successful.
