About Kiel McNaughton

Kiel McNaughton has always held a love for film and television making, both acting in front of the camera and producing behind it.

After a brief stint trying his hand at architecture, Kiel decided to follow his passion and enrolled at the Selwyn College of performing arts. After a year there he added to his experience with a Unitech Bachelor of Performing Screen Arts, from which he graduated in 2001.

As well as running his production company with his wife Kerry, Kiel has kept busy with other projects such as stunt work for Power Rangers and the New Zealand film, River Queen.

Then in March of 2007, Kiel got the role of James 'Scotty' Scott on Shortland Street, which he is currently best known for.

In 2008 Kiel co-wrote a play for Asian Tales: Native Alienz entitled The Mooncake and the Kumara.

Although Kiel's time at Shortland Street ended earlier this year, these days you will find Kiel continuing on with his passion through ventures like the 48hour Film Challenge and the Pixels for Christchurch charity.

The following is the result of Kiel's new relationship with YOOBEE where he visits Papua New Guinea with his brother, his iPhone and his iPad - here's the first webisode!
